Francesco is a handsome 3-year old male (possible) American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV during the overnight hours on September 11, 2024 by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff who picked him up on State Route 7 in the Marietta/Reno Ohio area. The location was at Mile Marker 31 which was likely in the vicinity of Sheets Run Road. Francesco was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
Francesco was waiting patiently in the Receiving Area of our shelter when staff arrived for work bright and early on September 11th .. He was a very happy guy who greeted the kennel techs with an impromptu serenade in his melodic operatic tenor voice, so they naturally chose an appropriate Italian name (Francesco) to reflect his natural talent.
Francesco has a white coat with chocolate brown markings, a long tail, and an adorable pale brown-and-white face with amber-colored eyes, a milk chocolate nose, and large floppy ears.
Francesco has a sweet, affectionate personality and was quite the gentleman for HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver who assisted him with his photo session on September 16, 2024. Francesco loves attention and seemed eager to make the acquaintance of other dogs that he saw being walked by volunteers/staff in the distance.
Francesco weighs 47 lbs. He walked well on a leash for Emily.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Francesco was held for three days so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly, nobody called or came looking for this awesome boy.
