My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Paloma, the chihuahua mix who's the life of the fiesta-even if she prefers to watch from the comfort of your arms!

Small in size but big on love-and tacos! Named after the classic Mexican drink, Paloma is a sweet cocktail of cuddles, charm, and a splash of sass. Like the drink, she's a little shy at first sip, but soon you'll find her refreshingly delightful and impossible to resist.

This petite senorita may be a tad shy, but she flashes the cutest underbite more charming than a mariachi serenade. While not the first to join the conga line, once she warms up, she'll be your tiny dance partner-especially if treats are involved!

Paloma loves the simple things: gentle belly rubs, being held close, and sneaking bites of your quesadillas when you're not looking. Don't be surprised if she gives you that adorable underbite grin-she's reminding you it's cuddle o'clock (or hinting it's taco time).

She's searching for a forever home where she can be the guac to your taco and the cuddle buddy you've always dreamed of. A quiet home where she can blossom at her own pace is just the ticket. Bonus if you're willing to hold her during movie nights-she promises to share the popcorn!

Disclaimer: Paloma's underbite may cause uncontrollable "awws" and increased snuggle desires. She might convince you to throw impromptu taco parties and has been known to steal hearts (and occasional tortilla chips). Side effects include excessive smiling and bursts of joy.

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
