Lambo is a tiny, zippy, little guy that is learning all about the good life.
Here is what his foster mom has to say about him:
"Lambo has a smile all the time, it's naturally part of him. He sits on his back legs & begs if he wants you to pick him up. He sounds ferocious when he plays, lol. But he isn't aggressive at all, it's just how he plays. If something is too big to hold in his mouth he'll hop with it to get where he wants to go. He will likely be easy to train, he's great with other dogs or just by himself, he needs a secure fenced yard because he will bolt when he takes a notion. He will do better if his humans or a friend is with him all the time, he does not like to be all alone.
He sleeps in his crate all night. We are still working on potty training. His favorite thing is to play keep away with his dog toys, running really fast (zoomies), squeaky toys, and cuddles at night."
We like to remind applicants that a new puppy is a lot like a toddler. Lambo will need to be supervised, and the best way to do that is to have a dedicated space set up for him. This area will be a part of the home where he can see activity & observe, but it is a place that is puppy proofed. Where he can play, lounge, or nap when his family is not directly engaging. Playpens, 4-squares, or x-pens are excellent tools to make this possible. They are easily mobile if you want to move them around, too.
We have decided the best scenario for Lambo would be to have a secure physically fenced yard. He REALLY really enjoys zooming all around the yard. But he is soooooo tiny! A four-pound puppy can slip through some really tiny spaces. We feel like it would be beneficial to also have a dedicated secure space for Lambo outside, like an xpen. NEVER EVER should a puppy be left in a yard without supervision, NEVER. If you have interior stairs, please have a plan to keep your puppy off the stairs unsupervised. Additionally, please be aware of the stair railing & the distance between the spindles.
Lambo is working on potty training. It is a process that will require commitment & patience, as puppies have a little puppy bladder. Remember, in a new home, a new environment means that new habits will have to be established.
Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility. It requires lots of patience & time! But it is very rewarding if everyone is invested. Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt an adorable puppy. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first.
