My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rocky, an almost 4-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who's smart, well-mannered, and affectionate with his people. He loves to play fetch, tug, and chase, and his playful side will definitely keep you entertained! Rocky has done well with friendly dogs in the past, though he can be a little sensitive and cautious when meeting new dogs and people. He'll do best with a patient family who can take things slow and help him feel comfortable.

Rocky has lived with respectful kids as young as seven and done great, but his history with cats is unknown. He's house trained and ready to settle into a loving home. If you're looking for a loyal and playful companion, Rocky could be your guy!

If you're ready to adopt within the next 24-48 hours and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:

Come in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30p-3:00p. For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt!

**the below two methods are slower than visiting**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.

All adult dog adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies and kennel cough vaccinations
-current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-microchip implanted & registered to adopter
-treatment of fleas & ticks
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
