My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Owen's ideal home would be a stress-free environment, where he can spend his days playing to his hearts content and getting all the love he can!

He has recently been diagnosed with FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease) and is on a vet prescribed diet to keep him at his healthiest!
Owen is a very sweet and social guy, he lived previously with other animals and while that particular situation did not work in his favour, he would likely thrive in a more accepting environment from his housemates.

Another playful cat that can enjoy spending time with him, playing and bonding as would be ideal or even a dog equally as happy to have him around.
Owen would also be just fine with people only, and should remain indoor only.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
