Meet Snoopy – A Happy-Go-Lucky Hound with a Heart of Gold!
Name: Snoopy
Gender: Male
Breed: Mixed Breed (likely part Hound)
Age: 1.5 years
Weight: 56 lbs
Current Location: Silver Spring, MD
About Snoopy Calling all soft-eared dog lovers—Snoopy could be your perfect match! This 56-pound bundle of love is young, playful, and full of joy. With his tan and white coat dotted with adorable spots (especially on his snout!), Snoopy has the classic look of a hound and a personality that’s as charming as his face. His soulful eyes have mastered the art of staring deep into your heart, but his playful spirit always shines through with a loving smile.
PersonalitySnoopy is a happy, affectionate guy who greets everyone with a wagging tail and warm heart. He would gladly climb into your lap for some cuddle time on the couch. Though he loves everyone he meets, including kids, he’d do best with older children, as he sometimes forgets his size in his excitement! His play style with other dogs can be overly enthusiastic and he’s still learning to pick up on other dogs’ cues, so he may do best as an only dog. A fenced yard would be ideal for him to run, play, and explore safely.
Energy LevelAt 1.5 years old, Snoopy has a good balance of energy and calm. He loves playtime—chasing squirrels, romping in the yard, and tug-of-war are some of his favorites. When it’s time to settle down, Snoopy willingly heads to his crate for naps or quiet time, showing his adaptable side. Despite his hound energy, he’s surprisingly quiet and doesn’t bark much—just another one of his charming qualities!
Skills and Training Snoopy is smart, eager to please, and making great progress in his training. He is learning basic commands like “sit” and “target touch” and enjoys using games like tug-of-war to practice “take it” and “drop it.” His recall is strong, and he responds well to his name. While he’s a bit of a “velcro dog” who loves to stay close to his people, he also enjoys exploring the backyard on his own. Snoopy is housetrained when kept on a schedule and has excellent crate manners!
CompanionshipSnoopy’s friendly and outgoing nature makes him a wonderful companion for an active family who can provide plenty of exercise and interaction. He’s at his happiest when he's with his people. While he loves playing with other dogs, his play-style can sometimes be too enthusiastic and overwhelming for other dogs. His play style is much calmer with people. We think he would thrive in a home where he’s the only dog, allowing him to receive all the attention he craves. With a fenced yard to explore, he’ll be in his element, ready to chase toys, search for squirrels, and enjoy life to the fullest!
Love and AffectionIf you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog who adores people and always has a wagging tail, Snoopy is your guy! He’s ready to be your devoted companion, bringing joy, energy, and unconditional love to your family.
