My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Madame Foster was brought in by a community member August 8, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Madame Foster, the sweetest dog on the block who's been the ultimate caregiver for her puppies! After months of diligently raising her little ones, this super mom is ready to find her own home. Madame Foster is great with kids and has even lived peacefully with a cat. She enjoys her walks and is ready to explore the world by your side. She can get a little over excited when she sees other dogs, and would need to meet any current dog to ensure a good fit prior to going home! As a mainly outdoor dog, she'll need some help with indoor manners and potty training, but with a little guidance, we expect she'll settle well. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's as sweet as she is caring, Madame Foster is the perfect addition to your family!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
