More about this rescue
Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California (BHRSC) offers sanctuary, healing and forever families to distressed, abandoned, injured or homeless hounds.
The hounds we rescue are placed in foster homes (or boarded, if no foster homes are available). We seek loving homes where they will spend their remaining years cuddling, eating, drooling, resting, playing, and socializing with people and other family pets.
We work to raise funds to save as many hounds as possible and constantly thrive to grow our network of volunteers and foster homes.
BHRSC takes in more than 100 hounds per year! With the down economy many families are losing their homes and having to relinquish their hounds. Shelters are full and rescues across the country are suffering. Many are overflowing and unable to take in hounds while others are closing their doors completely. Your support is more important than ever during this tough time.
