You haven't known love until you've met Prairie Flower. From the get go, she has been extremely friendly and affectionate. Prairie loves her people and she loves life! She is currently fostered with her brother Moon, adult cats, and large dogs. Prairie adjusted immediately to the cats in her foster home and she loves their company. She is still unsure of the dogs, but we're confident she'll get there with time and patience. While she's grown into them a bit, Prairie has the biggest eyes that make her look a bit like a creature you'd meet in the jungle. She's a petite little thing who loves to zoom around the house then find a sunny spot to lay. We simply adore her!
Prairie was born on a farm with dozens of other cats and kittens. The property owners were working hard with Brave to TNR (trap-neuter-return) to manage the cat population. At about 8 weeks old, Prairie and several other kittens left behind their farm life and haven’t looked back!
Requires another cat in the home: Yes, kittens always do better with a friend! A bored kitten is naughty kitten.
Good with other cats: Yes
Would be fine with young kids (under 10): Yes
Good with dogs: Should be fine given time to adjust and proper introductions
Home activity level: Average to "bring on the ruckus"
Health concerns or special needs: Prairie is on a sensitive tummy kitten food (not prescription). Her stools range from firm to loose. We have explored all avenues with our vet and Prairie is free of any worms, diseases, or parasites. She just has a sensitive tummy, but this doesn't slow her down and it is getting better the longer she's on a fish-based food. She prefers XL litter boxes.
We believe this kitten/cat was born around 5/1/2024. It is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $150 (or $250 for two) which covers age appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, FIV/FeLV testing, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. If you’re interested in adopting this kitten/cat, please submit an inquiry or email BraveAnimalRescue@gmail.com to ask about our adoption process (please check your spam or junk email if you do not hear back from us within a few business days). We are 100% volunteer staffed and will respond to your email as soon as possible. After you have submitted an application and been approved, we will set up a meet and greet between you and the kitten/cat. Meet and greets are held virtually via Zoom and we offer a trial period to ensure your cat/kitten is a match. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about Brave Animal Rescue and our mission.
