Meet Rickie, a tender-hearted 6-year-old poodle terrier mix whose spirit shines brighter than the sun breaking through a stormy sky. Rescued from the unforgiving streets of Cleveland, where a perilous existence loomed, Rickie emerged as a vibrant beacon of resilience, prancing joyfully in the yard, where he plays like a child chasing after fireflies. He dances into the hearts of those around him, each wag of his 9.6-pound form whispering sweet notes of hope with cuddles and friendship. A maestro on the leash, he leads with a wagging tail and a confident strut, eager to share his world with children, cats and dogs of any size, while excelling at potty training. Rickie embodies the spirit of a sunflower blooming through cracks in concrete, and in a home filled with love, he would blossom beyond measure, revealing the rich layers of affection he has to offer, one joyous bark at a time.

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion.
