My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ivy! She is approximately 3 years old.  This sweet Girl was found hungry and thirsty and heavily pregnant out on the streets.  Not only this- she was injured and had been colored with ink.   This is a common practice among people who fight dogs- they capture cats and mark them with different colored ink, toss them in a ring with the dogs and bet on which one will survive the longest.  Her healing injuries as well as unhealed injuries (which were infected) were consistent with this.  Two days after being brought off the streets she gave birth to 5 beautiful healthy babies.  Her babies are now in their forever homes, Ivy is now fully healed and is ready to find her forever home.  She is slightly shy at first but warms up quickly.  Given how easily she adjusted to being indoors and being around people, we are sure she was a pet cat once, but an owner search turned up nothing. A home where her people are home a lot and can encourage her to socialize would be ideal. She does well with other cats after a proper introduction.  She will NOT be adopted into a home with medium or large dogs. Small, mellow cat-friendly dogs will be considered. Ivy did show some mildly elevated liver values at her last vet visit, but the vet indicated that she could be safely adopted because her overall health is good.  He recommended monitoring the liver values, so Ivy comes with a free visit to our rescue vet within 60 days of her adoption, for an exam and bloodwork.  Ivy is spayed, felv fiv negative, dewormed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $140.
