Hi, I’m Bean! I came from a breeder in Oklahoma and I experienced trauma to my eye when I was younger so my friends at Big Bones helped me have it removed. I am recovering well!
I’m a small guy so I am comfortable around other small dogs but big dogs can intimidate me. With time and space I seem to get along with everyone.
Since being in a foster home, I have learned I love snuggling on couches, rolling over for tummy rubs and getting affection from my human. I’m doing well with house training but I do not walk on a leash yet so I will need a home with a secure yard. I would love to sleep in bed with you at night.
If there is another dog in the home I’m motivated by some friendly jealousy… my foster mom calls me a Jelly Bean! I might settle in a little quicker if there’s another dog around to show me I can trust the humans… and so I can compete for their pets.
If my human plans to hang out with me most of the day, I don’t need to have another dog in my home. I would get lonely if I was left home alone a lot though. I’m an affectionate and happy boy.

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
