Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen Choco with cats or kids, but he can be tested!
Currently Living at: Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to escape!
Special adoption considerations: After being rescued from the streets, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Choco would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.
Choco is Looking For: His forever home! Choco is from a Puerto Rico shelter, barely out of puppyhood, and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. He's eager to get his own humans in the DC area. Long sniffy walks, romps in the park, all the adventures his new family can dream up - yes, please! Making new pup and people pals along the way sounds great to him too. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof.
What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster.

The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
