REY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: ReyBest Guess for Breed: Terrier and retriever mix
Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of September 2024 SEX: Male
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 33 lbs as of 9/16/24
Gets Along With: Rey does well with other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but he can be tested!
Currently Living at: Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom flight here!
Special Adoption Considerations: After being rescued from the streets, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Rey would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.
Rey is Looking For: His forever home! He's a big older puppy from Puerto Rico, and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world ye. He is eager to have his own humans for snuggles, play time, and all the adventures they can dream up! He's excited about making new pup and people pals along the way, and wants to go to puppy school so he can show how super smart he is.
But most of all he wants to know where he belongs, who his family is, and be safe and loved for all his days. In exchange he promises to make you laugh - and to be your loyal companion.

The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers.
