My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pearl is a special Black Lab mix girl that tested our faith and hope when we stepped up to help this starved and abandoned girl. She is the ultimate survivor and at 10 years of age and a little under 50 lb, she has taught us all so much about resilience and persevering and still loving people even though she suffered badly at the hands of former people in her life. Through it all, this girl STILL loves people. Obviously someone was not nice to her before she was found on a back road in rural Tennessee. Pearl is a true miracle. This beautiful soul of a black lab just loves every person she meets. She quietly looks into your eyes to say hello and to offer her head to be petted. She is quiet and calm and very easy to be around. She has lived in a loving and quiet foster home and has learned to enjoy the company of not only other dogs but cats as well. She likes to go for a good easy walk on the leash and she enjoys sleeping at the foot of her foster mom's feet while she works. Pearl loves other dogs… most of the time but occasionally if some get too rambunctious and full of themselves, she will give a little growl that says 'be quiet and don't ruffle my senior feathers'. Pearl has a good sense of who she is and what she wants to do with her senior years of life. She enjoys a treat and she absolutely adores food. She may be 10 years old, but she still has a lot of energy. She’ll spend half an hour chasing and playing with 12 week old puppies, but when she’s done, she’s that girl that says “I’m tired, I’m done, leave me alone. ” She needs someone special who can understand that because she was starved, she will eat anything that is within reach of her. She loves to cuddle and is fully house trained.. She has good recall if she is in the mood.   If you meet our miracle we call Pearl, you will fall in love with her quiet and gentle demeanor.  She is a rock solid girl that beat the odds and WON!  You will win too if you adopt her.  She will outlive us all if she can. More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
