My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lu is a 2-3 year old border collie/ pit mix and your new best friend. She just wants to love and be loved. She's a beautiful, silly, sweet, playful, gentle, and smart lovebug. She's just so happy to be wherever she is, whether that be her crate, the backyard, the pool, in your arms, on walks and on car rides.

While she doesn't love being without you, she doesn't have separation anxiety. When you have to leave her area or the house, she's so patient, calm and composed.

Lu is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained and treat motivated. Lu's got some puppy energy when playing and she's learning personal space for sure, but she responds so quickly to training and our boundary work. She's so smart and has this crazy ability to reign in her puppy intensity when guided but have the best time romping around when it's time to let loose!

Lu has no food guarding issues and gently releases anything in her mouth when you're not playing tug o war :)

Lu would do well in a home with dog friends, or at least some play dates. She would also really do so well with some space to run around and play fetch.

Lu loves:

*Water and the outdoors! Such a great swimmer, loves a swim, a hike, a run, a walk... even just sitting in the sunshine. She loves any body of water, the lake and river trips are so fun with this girl
*Car rides! Loves to sit tall and watch the world outside and stick her sweet nose in the wind
*Other dogs! This girl is also your dog's BFF and even though we haven't taken her to a play date or dog park we suspect this would be heaven for her.
*Cats! She's learning her manners but she loves 'em! Initially, she was a little intense with her focus on meeting our resident cats but with structured introductions, she's mellowed so much. She's shown us that she just really really wants to meet them, because just like with humans and dogs, she's best friend material.
*Kids! This girl has the sweetest, most gentle and nurturing personality and especially so with children. Our son has autism and he's so comfortable with her because she is just so gentle and sweet. She really bonds with her people.
*Chew toys, squeaky toys, any toys! And bully sticks, big bones, peanut butter and turns out, blueberries! She loves hers chewy things so much she has never gone for a shoe or furniture.

Lu is reacts to:

*Bikes passed or passing on walks. She has some reactivity to them, and it seems to make her anxious. We have done some exposure work on this though and can already tell it's getting better. She just needs time to familiarize with new things and then she's great.
*Cats, as mentioned, she's very curious about them but has shown zero aggression, she's just a puppy who wants to make friends, even if they hiss at her.
*Loud noises like a blender and garbage disposal has caused her to run to another room but she does return once it ends, doesn't seem to have a long term impact.

All in all Lu is such a wonderful, smart and loving dog. Whoever gets to be Lu's forever is so incredibly lucky.
