My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let Flora bloom!

Flora is a 1 year old husky mix who is incredibly cute & adorable! She's friendly with other dogs and has potential for older kids (pending a meet), though we're still getting to know her!

She was found as a lost dog and has bee charming our staff with our goofy smile ever since! The husky side of her is extra playful and silly! Flora has a happy personality and a go getter attitude! This playful pooch is yours for the taking at our Newark, NJ animal shelter! Flora is utd on shots and will be spayed upon adoption!

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
