Meet Cassie, an adult canine who is full of life and love. She's a 53-pound bundle of energy, always ready to play and have fun. She likes car rides, running, and walks where she is well behaved on a leash. She's house trained too! She's incredibly friendly, winning hearts with her warm, cuddly nature. Gentle with her human friends, Cassie is a bit cautious around other dogs, but that doesn't dampen her spirit. She behaves well at the dog park and is polite when meeting other canines during walks. She's great with children, always ready for a game of fetch or a belly rub. She is easygoing, friendly, and playful with them and loves being petted. She's gentle and independent, perfectly content to entertain herself when needed. She's also obedient, listening attentively to commands she knows such as sit, come, no, down, off, and fetch. But it's her affectionate, lovable nature that truly sets her apart. She's protective too, promising to be a loyal friend. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
