My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Simon is an adorable male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on May 2, 2024 along with his mother (Claire) and his two brothers (Alvin and Theodore) after they were found in the Fleming Ohio area. Simon, Alvin and Theodore were tiny one-week old babies at that time.

This little 'house panther' has a black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a cute kitten face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long white whiskers.

Simon's momma (Claire) was a wonderful mother to her kittens and raised three happy, playful boys in a small shelter cage. In all of their first family photos in early May 2024, Claire always had her paws lovingly wrapped around all three of her babies.

Claire and her kittens were separated in late July 2024 after the kittens were weaned, and the boys were in an adjacent towers in the lobby of our shelter. Momma Claire kept a watchful eyes on her boys while they spent their days playing frivolous kitten games (smile).

Simon was given Pyrantel wormer on May 8, 2024. He was given vaccinations on June 6, 2024 and booster vaccines on August 30, 2024..

Simon was initially designated as a Special Needs Kitten when he was a tiny baby since he had a possible ulcer in his left eye. Thanks to the compassionate care from our HSOV Managers/Kennel Techs (and one of our wonderful local veterinarians), Simon's eye issues have been resolved. His left eye has responded to two different types of eye drops, and Simon was given a clean bill of health on July 31, 2024.

These updated photos of Simon were taken on July 15, 2024. His left eye has a normal appearance these days and the scarring has completely disappeared.

Simon is the ultimate playboy who dearly loved his brothers, and they were like 'The Three Musketeers' ..one for all and all for one. His brothers (Alvin & Theodore were adopted together on September 10th, so Simon is understandably very lonesome by himself. We'd love to see him adopted with another kitten (or by a family who already has some kittens/cats he could be playmates with).

Simon was neutered on September 17, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 4.8 lbs that day.

Simon is ready to find his dream home either through adoption or rescue.

Simon's mother (Claire) was also spayed on September 17, 2024 and would be a great companion to be adopted with Simon.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
