Dove is a 1-year-old, 52.2-pound Golden Retriever who was surrendered through no fault of her own. This young, energetic girl was a bit too much for the children in her previous home to handle. Despite her initial shyness in new situations, Dove warms up quickly when given a little space and patience.
According to her previous family, Dove is partially housetrained and crate trained. She's a friendly girl who loves other dogs and enjoys playtime through the yard fences with her shelter buddies. While she's still figuring out toys, she's curious and always up for some fun with her people. Dove loves running around outside and is sure to thrive in a home that can provide the physical and mental engagement she needs.

We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment ONLY. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via email at jcas@co.johnson.in.us or call 317-738-6090 during regular business hours. We will happily help get an application to you. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can contact you to set an appointment to meet the pet!

Our adoption fee is $150.00 for dogs, $75 for kittens under 6 months of age and $50 for all cats 6 months and older. This will include a rabies vaccination (if age appropriate), spay or neuter, a microchip with registration, and all other age appropriate vaccinations.

We are the all admittance shelter in Johnson County, we are not a 501c3, but a county run facility. We try our best to place each and every animal. We also house all animals picked up by Animal Control therefore; we intake a high volume of animals each year.
