Pearl is a special girl Black Lab mix that tested our faith and hope when we wondered if she was going to survive all that she went through when she was found abandoned on a country road and barely able to stand up. She came to us as a 24 pound skeleton and now we have this happy, healthy girl who is over 40+ pounds and at about 10 years of age, she is a true walking miracle. This greying black lab lady just loves every person she meets. For a while she had so much that needed to be done to bring her to good health. She rallied like a trooper and now she is living with a wonderful foster mom who has seen her through all her medications, her special food for a while, her dental, her vet visits to check on her bloodwork and to be sure that she received all that she needed. Pearl loves other dogs… most of the time but can be a bit cranky and will give a growl to leave her “alone” when she is tired. She lives with cats and loves them….sometimes. Again the old age cranky little ole lady can be a bit of a moody Judy but never hurtful. She always gets “over it”. She may be 10 years old, but she still has a lot of energy. She’ll spend a half an hour chasing and playing with 12 week old puppies, but when she’s done, she’s that lady that says “I’m tired, I’m done, leave me alone. ” She needs someone special who can understand that because she was starved, she will eat anything that is within reach of her. She loves to cuddle and is fully house trained. She needs a heavy hand on the leash, but really loves her walks/runs. She has good recall if she is in the mood ….again the cranky ole lady stuff does rear its head some days. If you meet our miracle we call Pearl somedays and Faith on others, you will fall in love with her quiet and gentle demeanor. She is a rock solid girl that beat the odds and WON! You will win too if you adopt her. She will outlive us all if she can. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com
PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region. Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.
