What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Shadow is estimated to be around 2 years old. He came from a home where he was never let outside and lived in a small apartment. He was rescued by Belmont Hoof and Paw and through the Belmont Correctional Institution dog training program. He passed with flying colors.
What wasn’t known at the time I adopted him is that Shadow has separation anxiety.
After a couple adjustment days, Shadow slept and does sleep well in his crate at night. During the day if I am home he will also be ok in his crate. If he is left alone in his crate and I leave the house, however, he will be in distress and often destroys what is inside his crate. He has a heavy duty crate because he was able to escape the other. The moment I return and let him out he is well behaved as usual and will show great excitement to see me.
Shadow is very behaved. He sleeps a lot and is very loving when you are with him. The separation anxiety is the only issue. He will see a vet next week for medicine to aid in that.
