My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beautiful Rose, now 9 months old, has been with her foster in WI for 6 weeks. She has found herself loving life as a house dog❤️ In the last month Rosie has experienced what it’s like to be loved and have her very own humans! Her foster family adores her just as much as she loves them! She has picked up on daily routines and what is expected of her. Still working on a couple manners, like jumping up on the counter to sniff out yummy food…(Hound life😂🫠) Potty training is going well. When she’s kept on a routine and monitored for signs, she rarely has an accident. She is crate trained and wonderful at kenneling when she’s told to. Even choosing her kennel as a safe space to rest on her own. Really, she is absolutely a wonderful dog❤️
Why we think Rose isn’t being adopted?
Rose is very shy at first. If you’re looking for a dog who you can take home and will immediately jump into your lap and shower you with kisses, Rose is just not the girl for you. In fact, she will likely need a week or so decompression time—a period of time where things need to stay calm in the house while she learns her new environment and explores at her own pace. Rosie’s best match will be patient while she learns her new normal and forms a connection with you. She will probably take some treats from you at a meet and greet…if you are gentle and respectful of her! Her foster mom can help guide the meet and greet introduction to help it go as smooth as possible. After living most of her young life in a shelter, she hasn’t had much positive experience with strangers.
Give it a week or 2 and miss Rose will start to come out of her shell, recognizing that she is safe. Once she forms that connection with you, she will shower you immensely with love💕 Rose enjoys laying in your lap and getting pets, taking a nap together and running around the yard with her dog friends. She’s great at entertaining herself with a toy or bone. She listens very well and knows the commands sit and lay down. We are still working on stay and come.
All this sweet girl needs is a chance for someone to see past her nervousness at first. Someone who will be patient and gentle while she warms up to her new humans and works on her confidence as a new house dog. Rose promises that all the work you put into her will pay off and she will be your best friend for life!!❤️ Who's going to give this baby girl a chance to prove that she is deserving of the life waiting for her?! Additional adoption info

A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.

Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
