Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Smudge is a sweet senior male cat who is used to being the "King" of the shelter. He was previously an indoor-outdoor cat but needs meds every 12 hours, so we are hoping to find him an indoor home where he won't risk missing his medication schedule. Smudge was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and needs a small tablet twice a day.
The meds are not very expensive and he eats them in his wet food. In his previous home, he would act out if not allowed outside but he does not seem to mind being inside the shelter. Smudge does not appreciate other animals in his space but he likes adult age people. He can be picky about being picked up or pet on his body sometimes, but he likes to be held and sit in laps when he chooses to do so. Smudge is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.

More about this shelter
"We speak for those who cannot" has been our shelter's motto since 1973. Since 1942 our members and staff have rescued homeless and unwanted pets, and placed them into new and loving homes.
We are very involved in our local community, and we have a Humane Education program and we travel to local schools to educate children on proper animal care, the importance of spaying and neutering, and how to be kind to animals.
Our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program provides financial aid to low income pet owners who need help affording the cost of the surgery at local Veterinary Hospitals and Clinics.
We also have a Trap-Neuter-Return program to help local community feral cats.
The Tri-Lakes Humane Society employs an Animal/Dog Control Officer, and contracts with local towns and villages. Our Dog Control Officer is in charge of enforcing the local Dog Control ordinances. From time to time, we also become involved in animal cruelty cases and assist local law enforcement with their investigations.
