My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lophie is a beautiful, well rounded girl and is an absolute dream companion. She is popular amongst her canine peers, a favorite in all of the play groups, and greets every human with her signature smile. She knows several basic commands and is highly food motivated. According to her previous foster family, she's crate trained and has an overall understanding of house manners.

This is Lophie's second time in a shelter, after having been with us as a puppy. She is now almost full grown, at 9 months old, and has been in our care for OVER 100 days in search of a home to call her own.

More about this shelter

Acadiana Animal Aid (AAA) is the region’s leader in animal transport, adoption, and education. We provide a safe place to land for animals at risk of euthanasia before they take off to their adoptive homes. For 48 years, AAA has played a vital role in saving animals from impoverished, resource-deprived communities. We transfer in pets at risk of euthanasia from municipal shelters throughout the state, provide veterinary and daily care, and create pathways to their futures. AAA is known locally and nationally for its lifesaving strategies to reduce the euthanasia rate of shelter pets in Louisiana. Our commitment to saving our region’s pets runs deep – in 2022, we saved nearly 2,000 cats and dogs through local adoptions.
