Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Handsome Silas is a Siberian Husky mix, born 7/1/24 and we expect he will be medium / large when full grown. We are unsure of what he is mixed with.
He is current on vaccinations, neutered, chipped and on preventions. A physical 6 ft min fence is required, if you know the breed, you know why.
We are looking for a family who is experienced with the breed. We know he is gorgeous, all huskies are, but they are not a breed for everyone. Here are some fun husky facts to help you consider if you are the right family for this breed of dog.
They are a high-energy breed that needs plenty of exercise, so they are not a good fit for everyone. However, if you are looking for a friendly, intelligent, and outgoing dog, a Siberian Husky may be the perfect breed.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind if you are considering getting a Siberian Husky:
They are escape artists, so you must have a secure yard or ensure they are always on a leash when outside.
They are vocal dogs, and they will often howl.
They are not hypoallergenic, so they will shed a lot and will require grooming several times a year.
If you are willing to put in the time and effort, a Siberian Husky can be a wonderful companion. They are loyal, loving, and always up for an adventure.
Silas will be ready to join his forever family the first week of October, after his vetting has been completed.
If you think you can be that family for Silas, please fill out our adoption application on our website at www.safehaventn.com . We are happy to set up a meet and greet for the approved application. His adoption fee is $300 and he is being fostered in Cookeville, TN. Out of state adoptions are $375 plus the cost of transport if not picked up in Tennessee.
