My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pixie, the ultimate companion cat! With her soft, velvety fur and bright, curious eyes, she loves to be around people and is always ready to cuddle up for a cozy afternoon. Pixie thrives on human interaction and enjoys being the center of attention-whether it's following you around the house or curling up in your lap while you read or watch TV.

While she has a charming demeanor, Pixie prefers to be the only feline in the household. Other cats just aren't her thing; she's happiest soaking up the love from her human friends. When she's not basking in the warmth of your company, you can find her lounging in her favorite sunny spot, blissfully dreaming away.

Pixie is the perfect blend of affection and relaxation, making her an ideal companion for anyone looking for a low-maintenance pet who loves to chill. Whether you're looking for a movie buddy or a warm presence while you work, Pixie is here to bring joy to your life!

Additional adoption info

We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!

Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.

When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.

What you will need in order to adopt:

A valid photo ID with your current address.

We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.

Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.

Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
