My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m a little 8 lb female Chihuahua looking for love. My name is Marina, I’m 2 years old and love is the key to my heart. I was one of a group of little Chihuahuas dumped at a muddy riverbank in San Antonio Texas and thankfully good samaritans came to our rescue. My little paws were stuck in the mud so deeply, that I was unable to free myself without help, and then my journey to trusting again began. I’m cute and sweet but I was terrified of people and it took me some time before I realized I was safe and loved. These days I’m doing great. I’m still shy around strangers, but my new foster mom can pick me up, hold me, give me kisses and pets and I’m in heaven. I get along with other dogs but they are not my focus and I’m not playful with them. I’m totally a people dog who loves love and attention, I’m very affectionate and will make a wonderful companion. I’m very low-maintenance, well-behaved, housebroken, and will walk on a leash with a bit of encouragement. I’m ready to find my future and I hear the Eastern Seaboard is the place to be. Inquire about me today and bring me home!

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
