My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth: 6/10/2024

Description:

Manika is a girl who tries to put on a tough and independent show, but really she is the sweetest girl who never wants to leave your side. She can be a little slow to warm up to new friends (both people and kitty) but with some sweet talking and good treats you can win her over quickly. Mani and her sister love to wrestle all day long and then when she's done she'll make sure to find her person for some pets and a nice nap. If you're looking for a cat that will help with the house chores, make sure you're never alone while getting ready or just hanging around, but also doesn't need to be constantly held and smothers you, then Manika is your girl!

Words to Describe Me: High-spirited, Active, Affectionate

Favorite Place to Sleep: Under the couch or a soft blanket

Favorite Toy: Feather toys, balls with bells

Perfect Day: Going wherever you go around the house, lots of playing, and a nice sunny place to nap

Kitty's Likes: Full body pets, wet food, toys

Kitty's Dislikes: Head petting and belly rubs

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Talking sweet and full body pets

  • Good with Cats: Likes cats given a proper introduction.

  • Good with Dogs:  Does not care for dogs, but can coexist peacefully with dogs who mind their own space

  • Good with Children:Can live with children over the age of 8.

  • Companion Animal: Not necessary.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Additional adoption info

Go meet their pets

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
