My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milo Powell’s personality is as big as his head! This ridiculously handsome boy wants to become your very best friend.

Since arrival Milo has spent a great deal of time working on convalescing from a persistent cough and severe burn injuries on his back. While his physical recovery is still ongoing (he has to wear a cone and gets one pill a day) he is more than ready to give and receive all the love you have to offer.

Milo’s hobbies include napping, following you around the house like a dog, and eating. He goes wild for Greenies and has been seen playing on occasion. He makes himself at home very quickly and is mostly indifferent to other cats, so he would likely be fine to join a multicat household or be the only cat in the home.

Milo likes to be near his people whenever possible, but not necessarily always touching. He sometimes lightly nips at our hands so we feel it would be better for him to go to a home without young children. Otherwise, he’s ready to be your little shadow for the rest of his life!

Milo is neutered, 2 years old, and up to date on all vaccines.

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
