Sometimes you just have to shake your head because you thought you had heard it all, and then this story comes across. Our southern rescue partners shared that a groomer they know had this happen:
A handicapped Shih Tzu & her best friend (also a little Shih Tzu) were abandoned at the groomer. The owner brought them for grooming and then called and said take them to the shelter or open the door and let them go. Unbelievable ....Really!?!
Snowy was badly matted, and had been attacked by a bigger dog. It permanently injured her back legs or a nerve in her back so sometimes she loses bowel and pee control. She has adorable incontinent pants to use, and she can walk and run with joy. She uses a doggie door and every time she goes out she will go to the bathroom, so it seems to be more of an issue when she is excited or playing. She is just 4 years old, and her life partner is Moses, a male who is 8 years old. He is the black and white dog in the pictures with the dapper
bow tie .
They are such sweet dogs and have had a rough life until they were rescued recently. It’s time to change things for the better for this pair of pals.
We realize this pair will take a very special adopter given Snowy's condition and the fact that they need to be adopted together. We are sure the love and joy they will provide to their new family will be well worth it. The adoption fee for these furry friends is $500.
If you have interest in meeting Snowy and Moses when they arrive, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
Thank you for considering rescue!
