My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Felicity has unfortunately returned to us through no fault of her own. Due to her adopter's health issues, she can no longer care for her. Felicity is a very well mannered gal. She keeps her emotions to herself. She doesn't like a lot of drama. She is neat in her kennel, she loves people and getting to go for walks. She prefers frequent short walks at a good pace. Due to an old hip injury long walks and running are not recommended. This girl has had lots of downs and few ups in her short life so far. But she doesn't complain. She is always ready to greet you with a tail wag and a smile. We hope that her luck will finally change for good in a positive way. She will thrive and be an amazing companion as the only dog in your home. She can walk by other dogs, and mind her business, but she does not like dogs in her space. She won't make a big deal about it. She will just get some back hair up and give a stern side eye. She wants her leader to take it from there and keep those other yappers away from her. She thinks she is a hooman. She would be an introvert.
She can't wait to cuddle up with you and read your favorite book.
She has a few commands..."sit" can be uncomfortable for her so she prefers "down". She is a super people pleaser, so more creative tricks will come easy for her. She currently weighs in around 65 pounds. She should stay around 55-60 to be in her best shape.
🟢 Easy going with all ages of people.
✅🐾medium energy, strong walker short distances. No jumping recommended.
🌕 She does not care for dogs in her space. Giving her distances away from the dogs is best. ⚠️Recommended to be the only dog love of your life!
🟢❤️Very lovable in a calm sophisticated way. She may take several meetings for you to feel like her special someone. But she feels deeply, just doesn't let it show right at first. She has been broken hearted several times and wants to know her person won't ever leave her again.
Please come and visit with Felicity. Her subtle charm and easy personality will give you peace and comfort.
Foster Family review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"Just wanted to share what a great fostering experience I had with Felicity aka Felli. She had Not one accident, zero chewing of anything, good on leash, great with people and kids, bundle of joy. I didn't even kennel her the last day and was gone for 5 hours, perfect Angel. Had a party and she was the life of the party! Took her to the beach one day too and she loved it. Doesn't need long walks due to an old hip injury, so great for a person or family that doesn't have time for that. She's just a perfect cuddly lap dog. Totally Velcro dog that needs to see you, be in the same room and preferably be touching you at all times, which is so sweet."
Please adopt Felicity❤️

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
