My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In a perfect world, all dogs would be like Isabella- great with other dogs, great with people, cat-tolerant, obedient and eager to please, and soooo cute.

Isabella is an itty-bitty pittie at a petite 49 pounds, with the cutest little bat ears and the biggest prettiest smile. We estimate her age to be around a year and a half old, but she is a rescue, and with all rescue dogs, age and breed are merely our best (educated) guesses.

Fall in love with Isabella here: https://youtu.be/mk4DSKiRv4g?si=4UNrkhlb02YcsCj8

This beautiful girl is so dog-savvy, she’s a pro at healthy interactions, and incredibly tolerant with other dogs. Isabella is fostered with many other dogs, and does well with all of them. She’s tolerant of the most pushy dogs, great at sharing treats and affection, and so loving with the other dogs. Here at the rescue, she greeted each new canine friend with the usual sniffs, and a few puppy kisses. Isabella was great at tandem walking with other dogs too. No matter what your pack looks like, Isabella will most likely fit in.

Isabella has been cat-tested by our behavior team. She passed with flying colors, and interrupted her own cat test to get pets from a new human friend. She is cat-tolerant, see her cat test for yourself in her adoption video!

With humans, Isabella knows no stranger. She’s incredibly tolerant with us as well, she allowed us to pick her up, pull on her tail, pull on her ears, touch her paws, dress her up, give her hugs- you name it, she considers it all love. With Isabella’s sweet nature, we are confident that it will be love at first sight when she meets her forever family.

Isabella loves treats, romps in the yard with her canine companions, and adventures into the world. She does great in the car, and doesn’t show any signs of anxiety or car sickness. With her friendly demeanor and small stature, taking her to restaurants, shops and events will be a breeze. Isabella is still working on her leash manners, but with a little polishing, she’ll be an excellent walking companion. Isabella is energetic at play time, but she has great house manners, and settles quickly indoors. Here at the rescue, she didn’t have any accidents in the house. Her foster family also reports that she’s fully crate trained (and “a really good girl,” and “a beautiful dog.)

Isabella’s perfect home has at least one loving human, and a comfy place to nap. She’s cat-tolerant and could live with kitties, and amazing with dogs! She would likely enjoy some doggy siblings, but she’s people-focused enough to do well as a solo-dog. Isabella would be an easy dog for a first time pet parent, and while we haven’t seen her, or tested her, with children yet, she would likely be a great family dog. Isabella is beloved to us, and we cannot wait to see her find her forever home. With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Isabella with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
