My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sylas!

Sylas is a brown tabby and white 1.5 year old domestic short hair. Sylas is particular about her feline friends, so she is being housed by herself at the moment. She is a bit overweight so a diet would be beneficial for her. Sylas is super human oriented, loves to snuggle, and plays great with her toys. She drools when she is relaxed or happy, and doesn't mind being picked up at all.

If you would like to meet Sylas, please drop by Tuesday thru Saturday 1-4pm or give us a call for more information 250-352-7178. You can also fill out our online pre adoption questionnaire.

Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
