Hi! My name is Honey and me and several of my friends are all looking for forever homes. We were all surrendered to a small rescue by a backyard breeder who stated she was not able to care for us any longer due to family obligations. A volunteer with that rescue reached out to BCAA to see if they could help us and they said yes! We were all pretty confused and scared when we first came into foster but with patience and TLC from our foster parents, we are each slowly coming out of our shells; foster mom says I am doing really good. I am a miniature dachshund, about 5 years old and I weigh just a little over 10lbs. I have gotten along with all of the other small/medium sized dogs I have met and haven't bothered the cats I've encountered (they are all bigger than me but not longer:). I have been doing pretty good lately in my crate overnight without accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding, although I would prefer to be out with you. I also share my crate with one of my small friends and we eat side-by-side without any issues. I have never had a leash on before coming into foster and I have to say I'm not a fan of them, so I will need a securely fenced yard in order to take care of my business. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at http://www.bcaaofnj.org.
