My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Mina and me and several of my friends are all looking for forever homes.  We were all surrendered to a small rescue by a backyard breeder who stated she was not able to care for us any longer due to family obligations.  A volunteer with that rescue reached out to BCAA to see if they could help us and they said yes!  We were all pretty confused and scared when we first came into foster but with patience and TLC from our foster parents, we are each slowly coming out of our shells.  I am a really small yorkie terrier, about 10 years old and I weigh just 6lbs.  I have gotten along with all of the other small/medium sized dogs I have met and haven't bothered the cats I've encountered (they are all bigger than me).  I have been doing pretty good lately in my crate overnight without accidents, no barking or tearing up of any bedding, although I would prefer to be out with you.  I have never had a leash on before coming into foster and I have to say I'm not a fan of them, so I will need a securely fenced yard in order to take care of my business.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at http://www.bcaaofnj.org.

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
