How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Nimo has the best markings. He has a little white tuft of color on his head and a big white stripe around his mid section, otherwise all black. He is so chic. He will elicit lots of oohs and aahs when your friends see him. He is a shy guy for us but that usually disappears as guinea pigs get use to their surroundings. In your home Nimo will start coming out at night because he is naturally nocturnal. After he feels comfortable with what's "out there", you will see him out more during the day. Nimo will want a nice guinea pig setup and we can show you what that looks like. He will want to be inside with an enclosure roomy enough for playing, eating, going to the bathroom and sleeping. Guinea pigs like cleanliness. They are neat but will expect you to keep their litter and space clean. Would you consider opening your heart and home to a guinea pig - or two? To find out, come to our shelter and visit our guinea pigs. Then, check out Nimo. Maybe he is the one for you. We hope to see you soon. Nino is ready.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
