My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Pleiades was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Is there anything more cute than a black puppy with floppy ears and mischievous eyes? Pleiades does not think so and we agree. Pleiades is very friendly and very playful. Her body wiggles as her tail wags. But, she is still a puppy and she needs/wants someone who will train her to be a good dog. She kind of knows about potty training but needs a little more help in getting it really down. We can help you with how to train her using positive reinforcement techniques. We have excellent classes on line and in person for puppy training. She will want any bad behaviors to be corrected immediately and firmly every time. With patience and consistency, it will not be long before she will be a trained dog that will make you happy and proud because you were part of her development. You will laugh and enjoy her puppiness but you will love and appreciate the good dog that she grows into. Are you ready to help make a puppy into a good dog? If so, bring a leash and come to our shelter to meet Pleiades. Yes, you can change her name if you take her home. And, remember, we will help with the training bit.

At SDHS:
Pleiades has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
