My story

Crate trained: Mostly
House Trained: Working on it

Betty brings the party! This lively pup enjoys amusing the masses and thrives on being the center of attention. And when she is not entertaining, she expects to receive cuddles and belly rubs - in the cutest way imaginable, of course. She just adores toys, ALL of them, but her ultimate favorite is the coveted tennis ball!

While in foster care, Betty unassumingly played the part of support-puppy for her foster’s aging resident poodle, who suffers from anxiety, and really took to the role. She always encouraged playtime but never forced it, picking up on the senior dog’s body language and respecting spatial boundaries. Betty also lived with a cat and realized quickly the cat wanted nothing to do with her, so she simply reciprocates the sentiment.  She’s intuitive with a sweet disposition, making her a wonderful companion for a multi-pet household. She’s also done great with children 8+ and adults, but due to her puppy excitement at times, a home with dog-savvy younger children may be best.  Betty has taken to the training she has received beautifully and, though she still needs work, presents no indication that she will have any difficulties settling into a new routine or environment with time and patience.

Whether it is playtime or cuddle time, Betty is a wonderful pup for kids and adults alike! She’ll bring the fun if you provide the tennis balls!

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
