My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This hunky boy is named Camo. He’s got it all, the looks, the brains, the charm, he’s great with kids and dogs, and cat-tolerant! Camo has also earned a “rescue favorite” badge already- our staff and volunteers all adore this boy! We think Camo would make an excellent dog for a first time pet parent, a great family dog, a loyal companion dog.

We believe that Camo is around 1 year old, just a baby, and a Pittie mix of some sort. Camo is a rescue so exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Camo weighs in at a snuggly 60 pounds.

Here at the rescue, Camo has spent time with kids ranging from 3-17 years old. With our favorite three year old volunteer, Camo was so patient, gentle and sweet. He sat at his command, took treats gently, and wasn’t too jumpy or pushy. Camo will make an excellent family dog!

Camo is so well mannered. He is extraordinarily easy on leash, no pulling, lunging or reacting to other dogs, he’s just along for the ride. Camo’s natural leash skills are so impressive to us, usually we have to pour extensive leash training into dogs, invest in specialized leashes, put dogs through classes, and sometimes more, to get them to Camo’s level! Camo is an easy dog to take out and about, he walks well anywhere, and he’s so friendly but not overly pushy about it. Camo would love to be your little adventure dog! Take him on walks through the park, to your kids’ baseball practice, hikes through the woods- Camo can handle it all, and he’ll enjoy your outings together so much! He’s a natural-born good boy, ready for his forever home. He would be an easy dog for a first time pet parent, a lovely companion dog.

Camo is a canine socialite perfect for any pack, he’s a true gentleman with the other dogs here at the rescue, we think he’d even do well in doggy-daycare! This boy is an inclusive and respectful player, and completely unfazed by other dogs while on leash.

Here at the rescue, Camo was cat-tested by our Director of Behavior. Camo did great! He was disinterested in our house cat Tom after a quick sniff, he’s cat-tolerant. See his cat test for yourself in his video.

Camo is great with new humans too. He’s so sweet, easy on leash for anyone, and he was amazing for his medical intake appointment! Our lead vet tech fell in love with his kind eyes, wiggly butt and gentle kisses.

Camo loves treats and toys, and he’s great at sharing both with other dogs! He’s a super gentle treat taker, and even gentler when taking treats from kids. This boy is all softness, sweetness and cuteness.

Two more brags before we wrap up Camo’s bio: first, Camo is a dog that responds well to verbal corrections, no need for “pet corrector,” noise-makers or whistles with him, Camo hears “no” and stops in his tracks! This boy is too good! Camo is also used as an assessment dog here at the rescue, this means that Camo greets our new canine intakes, teaches them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, and teaches us about their behaviors with other dogs. By participating in (and being on his best behavior for) assessments, Camo has and will save hundreds of doggy lives!

Camo’s perfect home has at least one loving human, and he’s not too picky about the rest. This handsome boy could thrive in just about any animal lover’s home. We think he would be an amazing family dog. With Camo’s loving and trusting demeanor, we’re confident that it will be love at first sight when he meets his forever family.

Camo is such a sweet, handsome and loyal dog. With any questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Camo with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
