We love Willie! He is a cheery, content, easy dog. His jaunty walk, curled tail, and scruffy coat always make us smile and win him lots of compliments when we are out for a walk. He likes to "fish" for leaves floating past him in the canal, sit at our feet while we eat, and trot along beside us as we putter around the yard. He needs little more than to be close to his people and enjoys life indoors. And this is where we have some difficulty, because we are not ready to be an indoor dog family.
We discovered Willie at the local shelter 2 years ago. They estimated his age as 3 years, which would make him about 5 right now. The groomer, however, estimates he is closer to 8 or 9. Also, Willie had been adopted out from the shelter previously and returned because he did not get along with that family's other dog. I don't think he would like to live with cats. I think Willie is happy to be a family's one and only dog. He does not like his tail grabbed, so small children could be a problem.
