My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Equal parts snuggly couch potato and aspiring WWE Diva, Scarlet does it all! With her sweet face, Dobby-esque eyes, and adorable wrinkly forehead, she's impossible not to fall for. Potty trained and well-behaved, she can be left alone without any accidents or destruction. While she occasionally exhibits mild separation anxiety, she's learning to trust that her human companion will always return. She’s friendly and playful with other dogs, and while she gets excited at times, she knows how to max and relax as well. She loves nothing more than to cuddle up and rest her weary head on your lap for hours of head pats and scratches. An excellent WFH companion as well, Scarlet is content to keep herself occupied with a bone, a nap, or some bird watching while you clack away on the keyboard. Her inquisitive nature keeps life interesting, and her love for snuggles will warm your heart. If you're ready to fall in love, Scarlet is ready to be your new best friend!

Personality & Characteristics: playful, affectionate, inquisitive, smart
My foster dog is good with: dogs & cats (fine with older children, perhaps too rambunctious for toddlers)
My foster dog is: house trained
Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 7
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Not an insistent barker, but will bark to let you know someone is at the door. Doesn't bark outside at dogs or people.
Walking Manners: pulls but is learning on being redirected, but is friendly with all creatures big and small
Appetite: average; not picky, eats quickly
Does the following: behaves herself very well when left alone, is a very quick learner
Favorite Things: bones, squeeky toys, cuddling and snuggling, chasing a tennis ball
Commands/Tricks: "sit",  "come" , "down", "release", "leave it." Also working on "settle" when we want her to go to her pad and settle down.

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
