My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Canary, but my foster Mom calls me Dobby! I arrived in NYC on Sept 15 and was picked for transport because I was very scared in the shelter in Georgia and started to decline, but you will never know by meetingme. I'm so excited to be in a new home and am eager to explore!  Every morning I can't wait to wake up and have my foster Mom take me outside so I can say hi to all my new fur friends on the street.  Mom has me on a normal potty schedule and I'm adjusting to it day by day.  When I'm outside I love to make new friends, and especially feel the need to show the big dogs who is the new sheriff in town!  I hardly bark, but will happy-yap when I make a new fur friend.  Humans always stop my Mom to tell her how cute I am, but I'm still shy to humans as I get adjusted to my new city. I really love the dog park and can spend hours there

At home, I enjoy my ball, chew toys, and mind simulating dog games.  I'm motivated by my beef-y and chicken-y flavored treats especailly in my efforts to become 100% crate trained.  Mom will go to work and leave me in the crate with no problems. I'm finally learning that my crate is my safe place, even when Mom is sleeping but I love when she wakes up because it means we can play again!  I'm very excited to be in a real home and can't wait to meet my forever family that will love me, provide me with a bed, and play with me.

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
