My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Short Bio:
Meet Purple Mountain, a gentle soul who is blossoming after being freed from a life of breeding. She is slowly uncovering her true self and learning to trust and love. She's discovering the joys of being a dog, playing, and receiving affection.

Personality & Characteristics:

•  Sweet, shy, and curious
•  Intelligent and eager to learn
•  Playful, but still building confidence
•  Affectionate and loving once trust is established
•  Calm and quiet

My foster dog is good with:

•  Dogs (gets along well, curious at first, then playful)
•  Not tested with Kids
•  Not tested with Cats

My foster dog is:

•  House trained (may have initial accidents adjusting to new schedule)
•  Learning crate training
•  Does not shed

3 Keywords for your pup:

1. Sweet
2. Shy
3. Curious

Energy Level: 4/10 (calm, with growing playfulness)

Barker? Or Quiet Pup?:
Quiet Pup (doesn't bark)

Walking Manners:
Learning to walk on a harness, doing well in quiet neighborhood settings

Appetite:
Good, eats well on a schedule

Does the following:

•  Gets car sick (motion sickness)
•  Still gets scared with loud noises
•  Nervous in new environments, but slowly exploring

Comfortable with:

•  Baths
•  Grooming
•  Outdoor time (enjoying short walks and exploration)

Favorite Things:

•  Treats
•  Toys
•  Belly rubs and pets
•  Playing with other dogs
•  Quiet walks

Commands/Tricks:

•  Learning basic commands (sit, stay, come)
•  Still building vocabulary

Ideal Home:
A quiet neighborhood with an experienced dog owner who can provide patience, love, and guidance. A resident dog can help teach her how to be a dog. Okay with alone time, but loves companionship.

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
