My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET, ACTIVE & SCRUFFY FRIEND:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 14 lbs.

Hi, my name is Holden!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I sure am happy about that! They are taking great care of me as I arrived heartworm positive, but I’ve been treated for that and am in a great foster home during my recovery period (see medical below for more info).  I’m ready to meet my new family!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them.  So, if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I recently met a boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and I liked them!  A home with kids around this age or older could be a good fit for me, and of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super sweet guy who is both affectionate and playful with the volunteers.  I’m also energetic and fun! True to my nature, I was a sweet boy for my shelter bath.  I can’t wait to be an excellent companion to my new family! / My energy level is 6-8, please keep me less active while I am in my heartworm recovery period.  After my recovery period, let’s go!

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t seem to know any commands yet, but I’m sure we can work on that together.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, though I have done some marking when walking in the hall.  Hopefully, my neuter will help with this and MM will be happy to give you tips on training with this too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I am a true cuddlebug who loves to be held.  Playtime is also great, and I always enjoy when the volunteers bring out the toys.  I look forward to lots of fun play sessions with you! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a heartworm preventative, and I was heartworm positive.  Thankfully, I’ve been treated for it and am in my recovery period now, which will conclude at the end of November.  I will have my heartworm re-check in May 2025.  I am still available for adoption during this time, but local adoption only, please.

I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
