My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you want a house pig but your pesky city says no barnyard animals? Alfie says boooo, but also, he is an excellent alternative. This big fella will happily bask in the sun, root around for favorite treats and snore like the best fake house pig around! All the neighbors will be jealous! Neener neener neighbors.
Alfie is an 11 month old, 95 pound neutered boxer/pitbull mix. He's potty trained, crate trained and just a nice boy. He's built like a wrecking ball, so sturdy kids for this guy, really just sturdy humans for him, you read he's a big dog, right? Alfie's not going to be a marathon runner, but he'll happily marathon hike. He's just going to need a minute to rest, find the guy a good patch of shade! Alfie is living with dogs, kids and cats. He will chase the cats if they run, so if your cats aren't down for that kind of attention, maybe he's not the dog for your cat.
Alfie will do best with a family who loves education and structure. He's a lovely dog who learns so quickly, harness that genius and the sky is the limit. Previous giant bully experience preferred.
Apply today to meet the new star of your household. We should be clear, he's not actually a house pig, he's just good at pretending.
Alfie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and move in ready.

More about this rescue

Canine Cupids' mission is to protect and improve the lives of homeless, neglected, and exceptional needs dogs and to place them in permanent, loving homes.

Canine Cupids is a Certified 501c3 Organization
DATCPLicense: 288601-DS

Canine Cupids work with animals, within our community and throughout our organization is guided by three core values: compassion, integrity and dedication.

Because every animal deserves to be loved, we feel it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes.

We strive to work with animal control agencies as well as other rescues and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets within our community.

At Canine Cupids our founding principle is that "ALL dogs are individuals and deserve to be regarded as such". This mindset is core to the belief system at The Animal Farm Foundation. It assists in securing equal treatment and opportunity for "pit bull" dogs - as well as all dogs, regardless of size, color, etc.

"We owe it to all dogs to see them for who they really are, free of prejudice, stereotypes, and assumptions that are based on a known pedigree, a breed label guess, physical appearance, or their past history."*

"Breed related traits are not guaranteed. If a dog does conform to breed traits that does not mean a dog isn't an individual! Breed characteristics may contribute to a dog?s individuality, but they are not the whole story." *

Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge a pooch by its stereotype!
