Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Cantaloupe! Cantaloupe came to us from Chicago Animal Care & Control and is currently in a foster home. Despite her challenging past, she is nothing but love. Three words describe Cantaloupe: snuggly, sweet and delicious!
Cantaloupe is close to 2 years old - past the puppy crazies and ready to learn to be a very loved family member. She has beautiful caramel and white coloring and weighs about 40-45 lbs. Cantaloupe is a little shy at first but is very affectionate and wants your attention and snuggles once she gets to know you. She is curious, as every experience is new to her, and loves to explore. She also loves to play with her squeaky toys! She is housebroken, crate trained and is working on her leash skills. Cantaloupe would do well with a family who will continue to show her the ropes. If you have a dog at home, a meet and greet with Cantaloupe will be required. We would love to see this sweet girl get the forever home she deserves!
Regarding leash walking, her temp foster noted that she was non-reactive with people and dogs on walks and did well walking in a busy city neighborhood. We have noticed that she is startled/distracted by loud and unexpected noises and people, but they are currently working with a trainer to build her confidence.
