My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Tallulah, but you can call me Tallie! I’m one of three cattens who initially came in for TNR, but then we let our helpers know we actually like people, so now we are on the hunt for our new indoor families!  I’m an adorable tabby girl with big, beautiful eyes.

I am the shyest of my siblings, and I took the longest to begin to trust people, so I need very patient humans who have experience with shy kitties.  Despite my shyness, I let my people know that I really was interested in them, by reaching my paw out of my kennel, grabbing their pants, and pulling them toward me!  I’m tiny but mighty!

Once out of my kennel, I showed everyone that although I am shy, I am quite the little adventurous daredevil!  There is no height too high for me to scale;  I’m fearless!  I’ll definitely need a home with a good cat tower and places for me to climb, because I love to be up high and watch the world from above.  I also like ball track toys, and I LOVE interactive play with wand toys!  Chasing things is my jam.

I REALLY like other cats a lot, and at my foster I’ve been drawn to older calm cats.  I do need a home with another kitty, so that I have a playmate and someone to help me feel more confident.  If you don’t have a kitty at home already, might I suggest my brother Benjamin?  He and I have a great relationship and we LOVE playing together!

I’m not a very big eater, but I do like Iams dry kitten food, and Friskies wet food with gravy.  I’m pretty sure I’ll like any gravy-based wet food—I’m definitely NOT a fan of pate style wet food.  My favorite sleeping spot is a big faux fur fluffy cat bed - I love to get cozy for my naptime!

I don’t know if I have been around dogs before, and I don’t think I’ve ever been around kids.  I think I would be okay with older kids who are very calm and gentle with me.  I do need a fairly quiet and calm house as I can get spooked pretty easily.  I hope you’ll come meet me; I may be shy, but with patience you’ll see me blossom!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.

We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.

We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.

We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.

We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.

Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.

Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!

More about this rescue

Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce feral cat population in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens for adoption into loving forever homes. We are a VDACS registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014 with over 60 foster homes.

Our heart is in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return of ferals), where cats are fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and allowed to live out their lives without reproducing. We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets.

We are always seeking fosters, volunteers, transporters, and trappers to join our team!
