Rosa was surrendered to rescue when her owner, who had her since she was a puppy, could no longer care for her. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home but doesn’t really care to interact with them. Rosa weighs around 8.4 pounds and her birthday is 8/22/2011. She has one tooth in the front and a few more in the back (which is why she eats only soft food). Her tongue hangs out of the side of her mouth most of the time which adds to her specialness. Rosa is a very sweet, loveable little ol’ gal.
From Foster Mom: Rosa is crate trained. The only time I put her there is overnight. Her crate is in my room and I cover it with a blanket. I set my alarm for 5am every day and she almost ALWAYS starts whining 10 or 15 minutes before the alarm goes off. She stays in my bedroom with my 2 dogs while I'm gone to work. She will use a potty pad. She like treats as long as they're soft. She isn't leash trained - her owner always carried her in a bag on her shoulder anytime they were out. I have a large fenced in yard so there's no need for her to be leashed. She likes to sleep under blankets but she especially likes her comfy cave-type bed.
Rosa takes Thyro-tabs for hair loss. As a result, most of her hair has grown back since coming into rescue in July. Rosa will use a potty pad during the day while foster mom is at work. Rosa is not appropriate for condo or apartment living as she can be barky at times - she must go to a single family dwelling.
Rosa is a sweet little lap dog - if you'd like to give her a retirement home, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for her by name - ROSA DOXIE TX!
