My story

My name is Able. I am a small male pit bull mix and am only about 33 pounds. I am the best doggie ever. I was hurt and sitting by the side of the road when a nice person found me and rescued me. I had to have my leg amputated, but I am doing very well learning how to walk on three legs! I don’t cry or bark and I love other dogs and even cats. I’m still a little bit afraid of people because of what happened to me, but I’m getting braver every day. I may be missing a leg, but I still have a big heart for anybody who might see this and love me!

People must come in for personal interview and complete adoption form. If renting, written permission from landlord is required. Adoption fee is $225. We require animals be returned to our facility if adoption does not work out. We require a signed agreement never to chain or crate an animal (crate exception for transport only). We DO NOT support crating! We follow up with phone call or home visit within first month. Adoptions are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call 231-944-6520. You must be 21 years or older to adopt.
